The Army takes on Iraq - at football (with video)

Troops from a Lancashire regiment were narrowly beaten by their Iraqi counterparts in a New Year football match.

The soldiers from 1st Battalion the Duke of Lancaster's regiment, who have been training the Iraqi soldiers in Basra, challenged them to a game to make up for the Army's last match – a 22-3 defeat against the same opposition.

This time the British troops lost on penalties.
