A group of selfless teenagers held a fun day to raise money to help victims of the typhoon in the Philippines.
Saarah Anwar-Qureshi, 18, Nadia Ayub, 17, Amara Ayub, 15 and Zahrah Anwar-Qureshi, 17 host the fund-raiser at Catherine Becketts Hall on Meadow Street in Preston.
There was a variety of activities held on the day to help raise cash for the cause, including face painting, cake stalls and games.
The event raised £2,000 for the Philippines appeal.
Nadia said: “We had a stall with a Wii set up, we had guess the weight of the cake and jars of sweets and we had a raffle, with lots of prizes from the community.
“Nando’s gave a meal for two, EastZEast gave a £40 voucher and Domino’s gave two free pizzas, and that is just some of them.
“More people came than we expected.
“We wanted to do something because we are here and warm and they are there and they don’t have anything.”
Nadia, who attends Cardinal Newman, said the girls were “shocked” to have raised so much money.
