Police are investigating after a teenage boy was stabbed in a Preston play park last night.

The schoolboy was stood with friends in a children’s play area near Cadley Causeway when he was attacked by another boy who stabbed him in the thigh with a knife at around 9pm.

“This was a nasty attack on a young man and so I urge anyone with any information at all please to come forward.

The attacker fled and the 15-year-old victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he was treated for a small puncture wound to his thigh.

The victim has since left hospital but now a 14-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and is currently in police custody.

And Lancashire police called on anyone with any information about the attack to get in touch.

“We are particularly keen to talk anyone who was in the park or near Cadley Causeway at the time of the incident who may have seen it.”
