A Preston’s Got Talent contest in aid of the Katy Holmes Trust will return this year, the charity has confirmed.
The talent show, which was first held last year, will raise funds for the Trust set up in the name of brain tumour victim Katy Holmes, from Penwortham, near Preston.
Auditions will take place on August 16, 30 and September 14 at the Best Western Leyland Hotel, the competition’s sponsors.
The heats will take place in October with the semi finals on October 12 an 19 and the final is on November 2. All finals will be held at the Pines Hotel.
The winner of the competition will perform at the Christmas Lights Switch on, organised by the Preston Business Improvement District.
The charity is looking for a variety of acts to take part who are from the PR postcode and are aged eight or over.
Katy’s mum Paula said: “We are looking for a variety of acts to come along and audition! We would love singers, dancers, magicians, comedians, anyone!! They can showcase their talent whilst raising money for a good cause.
“Last year’s winner also got to perform with Russell Watson. Who knows what opportunities may come someone’s way.
“We are always so very grateful to everyone who applys and helps us to raise much needed funds for research into brain tumours. The public are fantastic.”
