A dance teacher is hoping to raise money for charity as she encourages people to take up Latin dance.

Tango teacher, Lucy Wishart, from Hoghton, who has taught dance for 10 years, is organising an Argentine Tango event to raise money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

The event will take place on Sunday, February 17 from 1.30pm at Prospect House in Leyland.

The charity’s Valentine’s Appeal is a month-long campaign to raise £30,000 for facilities for cancer patients across the region.

Last year Lucy’s husband Iain was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma and had surgery to remove a tumour from his spleen and chemotherapy at Rosemere Cancer Centre. He has now been given the all clear.

The event will include a beginner’s taster class and a tango tea dance for more experienced movers. Tickets cost £8. For more information contact Lucy on 07983 979402.
