Becky, of Deepdale, said: “I used to come to the centre years ago when it was a youth club and the computer room was amazing. Now the building is a community centre they have had a refurbishment, but it still needs things doing, like the computer room.

“The plan is to turn it into an IT suite and completely refurbish it with new carpets, bigger screens and better chairs as they want it to be used for people with disabilities and learning difficulties.

“The centre has to do its own fund-raising so I think this would be an amazing opportunity for the community to get together and raise as much as we can. We also aim to raise awareness about Caritas Care, who runs the site, as it is not a well known charity.

“The zumbathon is a great way to get fit and help rise cash. We are also doing lots of things in the day to help raise money, raffles, games and auctions.

“It would be great to get the community involved with the donations and spread the word about what this amazing charity actually do.”

To get involved fund-raisers pay £4 and receive a sponsor form on the day.

Spectators are free on the day and there will be buckets available for donations.

Becky, 24, leads classes at Plungington Community Centre 6.15pm until 7.15pm on Thursday evenings.
