Areas around a Preston estate are set to have their lighting improved.
Residents in parts of the Fulwood Park estate have complained that street lighting is not being maintained well enough.
But some streets have now been adopted by highways chiefs at Lancashire County Council – and will be improved.
County Coun Michael Welsh, councillors for Preston North East, which includes Fulwood, said: “There have been a number of complaints about the maintenance of street lighting on Danvers Way and other areas of Fulwood Park.
“The Highways infrastructure including the street lights have now been adopted and the Lighting Service are now carrying out a bulk lamp change on Danvers Way and this can be extended to other areas as necessary.
“More to the point, when lights fail in future there is a clear line of responsibility fpr putting them right and the County Council Service has an excellent reputation.”
