Two car smash in Ribbleton
Police were called after a two car smash in Preston.
The incident happened at 5.20pm on Wednesday in Gammull Lane, Ribbleton, when a red Volkswagon Polo and a red Renault Kangaroo collided.
But officers said the road was not blocked by the accident and neither driver required ambulance treatment.
Arts Festival at the Harris
Artists are set to show off their work as part of the Preston Arts Festival 2008 from October 5 to 12.
A range of exhibitions will be on show across the city including paintings of Victorian Preston at the Harris Art Gallery and a murder mystery night at Preston Minster.
Court case adjourned
The court case of a man who allegedly became involved in a fight over who should go first in a queue at a shop has been adjourned
Josef Tarjanyi, 19, from Meadow Street, Deepdale, Preston, was charged with a Section 39 assault on a 42-year-old man and has been bailed to attend Preston Magistrates Court on September 24.
Toddlers group ready to welcome new members
A Fulwood playgroup is welcoming new members.
Cadley Tots meets every Thursday from 9.15 till 10.45 in the hall at Fulwood and Cadley School, Black Bull Lane. All parents and children under five are welcome to come along and play. Admission is 1.50 per family and includes toys, songs, refreshments and cakes.
'Your' radio open day
A Preston community radio station is holding an open day ahead of going live.
The Preston FM building will be open all day on Monday September 15, 10am to 6pm, for people to take a look around, hear what the station is planning to broadcast and get involved.

Water sinks motor show
Wet weather has scuppered plans to hold the Lancashire Classic Car and Bike Show at Hoghton Tower
Poor ground conditions at the site, near Preston, and the threat of more rain this week, have delayed the event until Sunday, October 5.
Pubs pumped dry in rains
Two Lancashire pubs and a home had to be pumped out by firefighters after torrential rain sent a deluge of flood water into basements.
Morecambe firefighters received around 10 calls from worried residents, while Fire Service control took another 12, as heavy rains battered the area on Tuesday evening.
Both The Coast and The Mermaid pubs were left flooded.
Plan Bee
A shop in Ribchester, near Preston, could become a taxi office. A planning application has been lodged to convert the Bee Mill.
Trust fund available to fund projects across the world
The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust is offering Preston people the chance to conduct projects overseas.
"Travelling Fellowships" will provide the opportunity to gain experience abroad in a wide range of interests.
The Trust provides a grant, averaging 5,300, covering all travel, subsistence and insurance for a trip lasting between four and 12 weeks.
The Fellowships offer a diverse range of projects, including science, sport, business and writing.
Blind bikers' pilot appeal
Galloway's Society for the Blind is looking for pilots to help two blind women who want to take part in this year's Lancashire Loop Cycling Challenge.
George Turner, appeals manager, said: "We have tandems and the blind person goes on the back and the sighted person goes on the front."

An outbuilding could be knocked down to build two houses in Longridge.
Planning permission is being sought for land in a conservation zone at Lower Lane.
New windows planning bid
Wooden sashes could replace uPVC windows at a listed building in Higher Road, Longridge.
A planning application has been lodged with Ribble Valley Council.
Kitchen and bathroom fire
Firecrews tackled a house blaze in Kirkham.
A kitchen and bathroom were left damaged when a fire broke out at a house in Dyer Street at 9.10am on Tuesday.
Haunting tale from Hall
A new book of haunting tales from Britain's stately homes features Samlesbury Hall.
Stately Ghosts focuses on houses across the country and the 14th Century hall appears in the chapter entitled Unquiet Graves. The book, from VisitBritain, also features the stories of a guardian angel who watches over a castle's laird, a Royalist commander locked in hiding in a secret room and the crying ghost of a four-year-old.
Car torched
A car was abandoned and torched close to a Preston pub. Firefighters were called to a lane off London Road, close to the Shaws Arms pub at around 2.45pm on Tuesday. A Vauxhall Vectra had been set on fire.
Scrum on down
A Scrumdidlyumptious Craft workshop for Roald Dahl fans will be held at the Harris Library this weekend.
Roald Dahl – Scrumdiddllyumtious Crafts takes place between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday at the library in Birley Street, Preston.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
Cards event at the hospice
A Lancashire cancer charity is launching its new Christmas card range.
St Catherine's Hospice, in Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall, will host an event to launch its Christmas cards and 2009 calendar, which features Lancashire scenes and traditional recipes, tomorrow.
It will take place in a marquee on the front lawn of the hospice, from 10am to 4pm.
School's fun for all family
Families can enjoy face painting and football games at a fun day in Kirkham.
Pear Tree School and Children's Centre on Station Road will welcome visitors on Saturday.
A children's entertainer and music and rhyme sessions will keep youngsters amused. The event runs from 1pm-3pm.
