Remembrance Sunday details

The Remembrance Day Parade and March Past of the Services, Ex Servicemen’s Organisations and Allied Organisations this year will start at the Covered Market on Sunday, November 11. Service men and women will march to the Flag Market via Lancaster Road, Church Street and Cheapside, meeting up with the Mayoral party at the Cenotaph in time for the service at 10.30am. The service will end with two minutes silence.

Guild fancy dress on show

Curator at the V&A museum, London, Uthra Rajgopal, will host an evening event at The Harris Museum & Art Gallery next week. On Wednesday, November 7, Uthra will share her recent research into the Harris’ Guild fancy-dress collection for the Dressing Up for the Guild exhibition. Tickets £5 or free for Friends of the Harris.

Tuesday treat for ramblers

Another regular guided rambles will takie in local footpaths around a wonderfully green part of Preston on Tuesday, November 6. Meeting at the Ancient Oak car park, Merry Trees Lane, Cottam, , PR4 0NZ at 10am the walk will continue until 12pm. For info call 01772 906471.

Story time for the under fives

Under fives and their carers are invited to drop into the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston, for storytime. Meet in the Discover Preston gallery for the free event this Friday, November 2, between 10.30am and 11am. For more information call 01772 905414
