A stolen puppy who was away from his loving family over Christmas has been reunited with his owner after police spotted him being walked on a city estate.

Staffordshire bull terrier Tyson was just 10 weeks old when he was snatched from his owner, who runs a car wash on Great George Street, Preston, on December 17.

While he was distracted another person entered the small car wash and stole the puppy, whisking him away on a motorbike.

PC Zaid Hadi and PCSO Gemma Doughty, who found him on Brookfield estate on January 10, said: “When Tyson and his brother Bruno were reunited it was amazing to see how happy they were.”

Inquiries into the burglary are ongoing.
