Health and homelessness will be showcased on STAN the Van, which will be out and about in Ribble Valley over the coming weeks.
STAN, which stands for “services to a neighbourhood,” is the travelling customer services vehicle that trundles around Ribble Valley’s leafy lanes offering a host of help on everything from benefits advice and bus passes to boiler replacements and business rates.
STAN, a joint venture between Ribble Valley, Pendle and Rossendale Borough Councils, and Help Direct, provides residents with information on over 800 public services and 2,000 community organisations.
And it will showcase sexual health in Clitheroe on January 14 and homelessness at various locations from January 25 to February 2. Ribble Valley Borough Council’s culture and leisure services manager, Colin Winterbottom, said: “The staff on STAN are knowledgeable about public services and can put residents in touch with community and voluntary groups that can offer them help and support.
“If residents are facing specific issues, or just want to explore the comprehensive information available on STAN, they are invited to hop on board, where they will be assured of a warm welcome.”
Dates include January 13 at the Whalley Arms Car Park, January 14 at Clitheroe Market, January 29 in Simonstone and Read and January 30 at Longridge Civic Hall.
