The North West (Lancashire) sub-group of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations is organising an evening focussing on exploring “PR in a leadership context” next month.
Respected academics Professor Anne Gregory from Leeds Metropolitan University and Mel Powell from Manchester Metropolitan University will deliver two masterclasses at the event in UCLAN Preston on September 18.
Public relations is operating in an increasingly challenging and complex environment.
Professor Gregory, co-author of the recently published book Strategic Public Relations Leadership, will talk about how PR practitioners can operate more effectively in a strategic context.
Mel Powell meanwhile will discuss whether or not there is a distinct leadership model for women.
Amanda Jackson, Chair of the CIPR North West (Lancashire) Committee said: “This should be a great evening for people working in PR and communications roles across the region.
“Anyone else who wants to hear from two leading industry experts talking about leadership in a strategic context will, of course, be welcome to attend.”
