SpID bid to warn village speeders

Villagers in the north of Preston are looking at setting up a Speed Indicator Device (SpID) powered by solar energy to slow drivers down.

Concerns have been raised over speeding drivers in Goosnargh in recent months.

Neighbourhood police officers are now looking at the viability of a SpID device, which tells drivers how fast they are going.

Villagers also want to look at setting up a Community Speed Watch scheme, where residents work with police to catch and advise drivers breaching 20mph limits.

Limits across residential streets in the village have dropped under a County Hall scheme.
