This attractive detached house is in a quiet cul-de-sac and includes a 21ft-lounge/dining area, study, lovely kitchen, four bedrooms, contemporary style family bathroom and gardens to front and rear.
1 What appealed to you most about the property?
The location of the property – on a cul-de-sac part of the road, near to the local schools and local shops. Also the space within the property for my family.
2 How long have you lived in the property?
I have lived here for seven years with my two children. I loved the house as soon as I saw it but I knew there were improvements to make. Looking back I’ve achieved what I wanted to with the house and also we have all achieved so much as well in the seven years we’ve been here – my children have grown up, my son now being away at university and my daughter studying A levels, and I have improved my job situation too.
3 What have you done to the house since moving into the property?
I’ve changed the old 1978 bathroom and modernised the lounge and bedrooms. I’ve knocked through the old utility room that you reached through a small kitchen. It was a wasted area and has now provided a large open plan kitchen which is amazing. It makes so much difference to the feel of the kitchen and of the whole house, I love it.
4 Why are you selling?
Now my children are practically grown up and away pursuing their own interests it’s now time to downsize to something a bit smaller. The house is sizeable enough for a larger family, maybe with younger children who will use the large garden more than we do. When the kids were smaller, we had room for a trampoline and slide in there and it’s large enough for football games etc.
5 What is your favourite room and why?
Has to be the kitchen, especially late summer when the sun’s shining through in the evening. Probably because the improvement in the space is so great that even, nearly two years later, I’m still amazed by it.
6 What will you miss most about moving?
I’m hoping to move locally because I love the area so much and have friends on my road. The quietness of the location is great, and it’s so close to local amenities.
7 How close are the amenities?
There’s a Sainsbury’s two minutes walk away, also Booths is 10-minute walk. There are local pubs within a short walking distance too, plus the local library and Hurst Grange Park. In addition, it’s only a short walk into town and down to Avenham and Miller Park.
8 To whom would this property be best suited?
It would suit a larger family. There are three very good sized bedrooms and the fourth is a good space too. We have a large open plan lounge/dining room and the beautiful kitchen and downstairs toilet. In addition, there is an extra room at the back of the property downstairs which is always handy as a games room or office/computer room. The garden suits children and the cul-de -sac location is equally appealing.
