The Preston branch of Yorkshire Building Society has shown its support for the Fox Street Community Centre over the Christmas period by helping people across the town that have previously been sleeping rough.
Staff at the branch, on Fishergate, acted as a food drop off point to collect non-perishable items for people receiving support from the community centre.
They also secured a £100 donation from the Yorkshire’s Community Investment Fund.
“Although many see Christmas as a time for celebration, we must not forget to look out for those in our local community who may need a little bit of help,” said Steven Robinson, manager of Yorkshire Building Society’s Preston branch.
“Our branch food collection has been a great success – it got off to a flying start and then was boosted further by generous members of the public popping in with an item or two for the community centre.”
