A Lancashire woman is flying high in her race to win a prestigious beauty pageant.
As part of her bid to take the crown at next month’s Miss Galaxy England event, Amy Noblett is set to skydive for charity from over 3,000 feet above the Lake District.
After winning the title of Miss North West, 22-year-old Amy will compete against girls from all over the country in the grand final at the Park Hall Hotel in Charnock Richard, near Chorley,
Amy said: “I’ve already raised £933 for The Christie Charity ahead of my skydive on Sunday, and we have been out and about in the community with buckets collecting for the British Heart Foundation.
“I’m very nervous but excited at the same time. I can’t wait.”
Amy, who works at her dad’s construction company, AJN refurbishment, is no stranger to the world of beauty pageants, having competed in the Miss Preston competition in 2011.
She said: “My favourite part is the catwalk section.
“People expect the beauty pageant world to be quite bitchy and nasty but they couldn’t be more wrong.
“It’s always a great atmosphere and all the girls are all really enthusiastic about the charity work we get involved in.”
And her patriotic family are most certainly going to be behind her all the way.
Amy, who lives with her grandparents in Penwortham, near Preston, said: “My family is very patriotic and my parents couldn’t be more proud.
“My mum gets very excited about all the dresses and make up.
“I have a younger sister, who is nine, who keeps asking to borrow my dresses, and my younger brother, who is 17, is totally cool about the whole thing. I’m sure on the night he’ll be cheering me on.”
