Shop windows at 'art' of the city
Artist Becky Shaw has been trawling the streets of Preston snapping every item of women's clothing on the high street.
Over the past three months, she has visited the city centre to chart the changes in the shop windows.
Each image was then arranged onto a montage, mapping the colours and textures as they change from summer to autumn.
And now shoppers can pick up the free, limited edition prints – called Local Colour – when they visit boutiques around the city until October.
Becky said: "I'm really fascinated with shop windows and how they reflect our identity.
"I became interested after shopping in Preston for maternity clothes and noticed the shop windows were better than in Hampstead. So I decided to look at the shops and see whether they have any local nuances."
The Sheffield-based artist added: "I like the way shops try to entice us in and make us part with our money."
As well as looking at the changing trends, the project also highlights Preston's influence on the fashion scene thanks to the University of Central Lancashire's award-winning fashion school.
The fashion course is one of the oldest and most successful in the country, attracting students from across the world.
Becky's work is part of the In Certain Places project, which is run by the Harris Museum and the university. Previous works have included an interactive game of hide and seek through the city centre, a fountain in the Flag Market and more than 208 "mysteries" recorded on a website.
