PEOPLE who have stories to tell about relatives in the First World War are being invited to share their memorabilia at a series of Preston Remembers Roadshows this month.

People who have stories to tell about relatives in the First World War are being invited to share their memorabilia at a series of Preston Remembers Roadshows this month.

The roadshows aim to capture the stories and memorabilia of Preston people and experts can help capture their story permanently for future generations.

Preston Remembers roadshows will be held from 10.30am-3pm on Tuesday at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery; next Saturday at the Museum of Lancashire and on November 21 at Sharoe Green Library, Fulwood.

Fred Sandiford, is the 
paternal grandfather of Eileen Barker, and survived the war. Another of Eileen’s relatives did not, and his details appear on the Roll of Honour in the Harris Museum & Art Gallery.

Eileen said: “These roadshows are a fantastic idea and a great way to bring these family stories to life. We need to celebrate and remember the sacrifice these men and women gave, passing the stories on to our next generation.”
