Seized t shirts to be sent to the poor

Counterfeit t-shirts for rock bands including Oasis, Kasabian and The Enemy, seized outside shows in Heaton Park, are to be sent to some of the world's poorest people.

More than 1,300 fake shirts were seized by trading standards officers during the concerts in early June.

These will now be passed to the International Aid Trust charity, which will remove the bogus logos before sending the shirts to needy people in Eastern Europe, Africa and India.

Hundreds of fake posters, also seized from traders outside at the gigs, will be pulped.
