A team of 40 Scouts from Lancashire are touring South Easrern Europe in a bid to build links with local youths.
Following their arrival in Athens and visiting Olympia, Sparta and Thessaloniki, they journeyed to Skopje and Bela Palanka, and are now in Serbia on their way to Belgrade and then Székesfehérvár in Hungary which is twinned with Chorley, the home town of some of the participants.
The group has met with local Scouts and taken part in different activities to those they are used to in the UK. In Hungary, they will be helping local Scouts run the town Youth Cycling day.
Scout volunteer Pamela Tompsett said: “It has been fantastic to see all the group interacting with local scouts in each country we visit. They are really embracing the similarities and differences in each other’s cultures.”
