Scores of people have joined a search party for missing Burnley teenager Declan Edwards.
Groups met outside the Brickmakers Arms in Yorkshire Street where posters of 16-year-old Declan were handed out for people to put up and pass out.
Family friend Hayley Barrett, who helped organise the search, said they were concentrating their efforts on places where they had heard Declan may have been.
“There have been a few unconfirmed sightings but at the moment there’s been nothing concrete. We’re going to have a look around Thompson Park, then around Pit Top, up to Rowley Lake and then come out up at the Thornton Arms in Brunshaw.
“His family are worried sick about him and we’re just hoping we can help find him as quickly as possible. We searched Towneley Park yesterday but there was no trace of him whatsoever. Hopefully we’ll find him today.”
The police helicopter has been assisting with the search and has been out circling the area again this afternoon.
If anybody has any information on Declan, who has not been seen since Sunday, they are urged to ring the police on 101 quoting log number 1416 of May 4th.
