The annual Rotary Youth Speaks event hosted by local Rotary Clubs, takes place on Saturday at Walton-le-Dale High School.

From 10am to 5pm there will be 15 teams of three competing in public speaking.

Each group, from a local school, has a chairman allowed two minutes to introduce the team and the topic.

A principal speaker has six minutes to deliver the talk and a further two minutes to answer questions.

The proposer of the vote of thanks has two minutes to summarise the key points.

Two winning teams will go forward to the District Final to be held on February 8.
