More than 70 gymnasts competed in team and individual competitions at a secondary school gymnastics event.

The day of competitions was held at the City of Preston Gymnastics Club in Campbell Street and organisers say the standard of gymnasts was “very high”.

In the novice category, Corpus Christi Catholic High School took gold in both boys and girls events.

Stepping up to music in the intermediate girls competition, Corpus Christi came third with Longridge High School in silver medal position.

And the Ashton Community Science College team took the gold medals.

Dean Brandwood, Preston Council, Schools Games Organiser said: “The gymnastics club is continuing its hugely supportive role in delivering coaching and competition across the city and continues to produce gymnasts of an extremely high calibre.”
