Two girls will be setting out on a sponsored bike ride tomorrow in memory of their father.

Sarah Boyes, 17, and her sister Keira, 11, will cycle the length of the Guild Wheel tomorrow in memory of their father Stephen, who died in St Catherine’s Hospital on May 1, 2014.

Their mum Karen said: “Funds are being raised for St Catherine’s hospice who did a wonderful job supporting our family and we feel this is a fantastic way to say thank you to them and to remember Steve.

“We have had support from Virgin Active and Starbucks at Bluebell Way. I had an accident last week and have a grade two muscle tear, however, Martin at Wallis Cycles in Walton Le Dale has been extremely kind loaned me an electric Scott bike he has in stock at £3,000 so I can take part as much as I can.”

The ride starts at Avenham Park tomorrow at 10am, and anyone who wants to join in is welcome.

The riders will move off towards Brockholes, stopping at Starbucks in Bluebell Way and UCLan sports centre.
