Preston’s Flag Market is to be swamped by Roman characters as part of a living history event to mark the end of a Roman exhibition in the city.
History fanatics dressed as Roman legionnaires will begin a procession at midday on Saturday, October 26 from the Flag Market to the Museum of Lancashire on Stanley Street.
Onlookers will get the chance to discover the weaponry, try on armour and see the medical equipment that was used by the Roman Empire’s fighting force.
During the day, there will be demonstrations at the museum including a reconstructed ballista and drill, marking the final week of the Sons of Mars exhibition of Roman illustrations by Graham Sumner.
The museum is also hosting other activities over the half term holiday including ghost tours and spooky stories.
