Rock star writes score for college advert
Former Dire Straits keyboard player Alan Clark has composed a track for Preston College's campaign to encourage young people to consider an apprenticeship.
Over the years, Clark has played and recorded with artists such as Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner and the Bee Gees.
He regularly composes music for TV and film and is currently working on several TV commercials.
His music forms the soundtrack to the Fulwood College's latest advertising campaign, which has broadcast on ITV.
Shown in between prime time shows such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street and The Bil,l the 20 second commercial stars apprentices Victoria Snook, Faiz Patel and Matthew Latham.
It aims to inspire 16 to 24 year olds to enrol for an apprenticeship and to show how local businesses can benefit from supporting apprentices in the work place.
The campaign ends with an open day tomorrow which is taking place in the main building at the college's Fulwood campus on St Vincent's Road, from 1pm until 6pm.
Apprenticeships are available across a wide range of job sectors at Preston College.
These include beauty therapy, business administration, catering and hospitality, construction, hairdressing, retail, health and social care, sports and recreation and motor vehicle maintenance.
