Retail plan for pub is given go ahead

All change: The pub

All change: The pub

Plans to change a former pub into retail premises have been approved.

South Ribble Council has rubber stamped ‘change of use plans’ for The Lancs and Yorks Hotel in Station Road, Bamber Bridge, near Preston.

The plans were put forward by School Lane Properties Ltd.

An application from agents Bolton-based Walker Design states: “We don’t propose to alter the façade of the building but a signage application will be applied for at a later stage once planning has been granted.

“We don’t propose to alter the floor layout upstairs and this will remain living accommodation. The ground floor will have minimal changes also, we will removed the wall dividing between the games room and the bar area, this will allow a shop floor area of 107sqm. The existing ladies and gents will be turned into the store room and the kitchen will become the office.”
