Residents told to get on their bikes

A series of guided bike rides have been organised across South Ribble, with the aim of getting more people involved in cycling.

Organised by South Ribble Borough Council and British Cycling, the Sky Ride Local programme starts in June and rides will run on Sundays through to the end of September.

Rides are between six and 20 miles long and are graded according to their level of difficulty. Most rides are family friendly, and youngsters under the age of five don’t need to be registered, but must be in a BSA approved child seat, trailer or tag-a-long.

The first event will be on Sunday, June 1 at 2pm, starting from Bamber Bridge Tennis Centre. The seven mile route is suitable for all ages.
