Kind-hearted Chorley Community Housing (CCH) residents have baked up a storm for charity.
A total of £132 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support by residents of Ryefield in Heapey, who recently held two garden parties
Residents at the sheltered scheme baked their own goodies for the parties as well as enjoying a tombola and a raffle. All residents were invited to the parties and many attended along with their children and grand children.
Samantha Hornsby, neighbourhood development officer at CCH said: “I attended one of the parties and it was wonderful to see the residents coming together and enjoying themselves whilst raising money for a good cause”.
The Ryefield residents are now able to hold many outdoor events following several successful funding bids to CCH’s neighbourhood fund. With cash boosts, they have been able to fund outdoor furniture and a flagged patio area.
CCH have also supported the residents by purchasing some of the food for the recent parties.
Josie Snape, resident at Ryefield said: “We work really hard here at Ryefield to raise funds for our group and charities and really enjoy holding events like this and being able to come together as part of the Ryefield family.”
