A charity for the blind is inviting people across Lancashire to take part in their prestigious flagship event, the Morecambe Bay Walk.
The Galloway’s Society for the Blind event, which takes place on June 21 and 22, will be guided by Cedric Robinson MBE, has a limited number of places available and the charity are urging people to sign up now.
Stuart Clayton, chief executive of the Preston-based charity said: “Every day, over 100 people in the UK start to lose their sight and are often told that nothing more can be done.
“Here in Lancashire, we work hard to ensure that people affected by sight loss have advice, support, equipment and a variety of services available to them, helping people regain their independence and reduce the effects of minimal vision.
“Each year, we need to raise £1m to continue our work and it is only with people from our local community taking part in such great events that we are able to achieve this.”
Registration for the event is now open and costs just £10 to register which includes a t-shirt to walk in on the day.
The 9 mile walk is popular event for people up and down the country, starting from the picturesque promenade of Arnside and finishing at Kents Bank.
