A 23-year-old man who died after being hit by a train near Lancaster has been named.
Michael Towers, from Warton, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision between Yealand and Burton-in-Kendal close to Cinderbarrow Lane on Monday, May 19.
A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said officers were called to the West Coast Main Line following reports of a person hit by a train.
He said: “Officers from British Transport Police and Lancashire Constabulary attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 10.29pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.”
An inquest will be opened and adjourned in due course.
