Charity supporters are being asked to put their best foot forward for a fundraising walk in aid of Galloway’s Society for the Blind.
Queens Guide Cedric Robinson MBE will lead a nine mile walk to raise cash for the cause, which works with more than 7,000 blind and partially sighted people. The walk is the Society’s major fund-raising event, and people are needed to join in the fun on either June 1 or June 2.
Both walks from the pretty picturesque promenade at Arnside near Carnforth taking in some breathtaking Lakeland Views on route before finishing at Kents Bank near Grange three hours later.
Kevin Lonergan, walk organiser for Galloway’s said, “This year sees us celebrating our 30th walk across the Bay and the Queens Guide celebrating 50 years since he was appointed guide, so we’d like to make the event extra special and are encouraging as many people as possible to take part - companies, groups, families and individuals are all needed to make the walk a success”.
