A public consultation to outline plans for more than 280 homes in Bamber Bridge will be held next week.
Housing company Persimmon Homes Lancashire wants to develop land off Brindle Road.
The company is hosting the event prior to submitting any plans to the council in a bid to get the views of local people.
The consultation event will be at Bamber Bridge Methodist Church in Station Road, Bamber Bridge on Monday from 1.30pm until 7pm.
Mark Cook, managing director at Persimmon Homes Lancashire, said: “Our plans are for just over 280 new homes in a range of sizes and styles, of which a percentage will be affordable.
“We see investment of this type in Lancashire as vital for economic growth, creating new jobs both directly at the site and indirectly through the supply chain and within the community.
“This site is part of a wider allocation of land earmarked for residential development by South Ribble Borough Council, and we are working closely with the local authority to deliver the right mix of properties for the location.
“We hope to submit a planning application this autumn and if successful would be looking to start on the site next year.”
“We are very keen to receive feedback and comment from local residents about our proposals and welcome dialogue with all stakeholders.
“The purpose of next week’s consultation event is to display the plans, enable local people to ask questions and provide us with their views.”
At the event residents will be able to see display boards explaining the background to the site and the masterplan, and feedback forms will be available for comments.
