Property guru Kirstie's pub lunch

Lovely river, nice decor...bit noisy with those trains though!

Property guru Kirstie Allsopp popped into a Preston hostelry for a spot of lunch as Location Location Location hit Preston.

The TV presenter and her team were at The Continental, South Meadow Lane, yesterday ahead of filming in the city for the popular Channel 4 show.

The presenter will help two couples from Preston find new properties – one with a budget of 190,000 with their sights on Wigan and another with more than 400,000 to spend.

She said: "We are with a couple who were going to buy nearly two years ago and the week that Northern Rock crashed they were going to sign, exchange on their property. They didn't want to buy and now they're looking to buy again."

Kirstie gives the house-hunting couples her opinions as they search for their dream home.

Asked whether she had visited Preston before, Kirstie said: "Not specifically Preston. We've skirted round the whole area.

"I've been to Preston station lots because it's a good link-up. I would think we've been to Lancashire seven times.

"You know how it is, they keep on changing the names of places so you think you're in Lancashire but then discover you're not."

Kirstie also presents Relocation, Relocation, with Phil Spencer, which helps people looking for a change of scenery.

Kirstie added: "We're here more often for Relocation because, I don't know what it is about Lancashire folk, but we've been with couples who've wanted to come home again."
