Preston students rehearse for debut single video

Dancing the night away is how these Preston College students have prepared themselves for the making of their debut single video.

Preston's first girl band P5, tipped by music industry experts to go far, has been rehearsing nightly for weeks after studying full days in college, and cramming in assignments at weekends.

Band member Romi Hutton, 18, says: "We have been so busy that we haven't had the time to sit back and think about the attention.

"Every little girl's dream is to be in a girl band and at school we used to play around at break time singing and dancing.

"So if it does carry on for years and years to come that'll be fantastic."

Media BTEC student Chris Bromley, who is on the college's Gifted and Talented programme, directed the video.

He said: "We decided to have a warehouse look, so we used props and metal crates to give it the right feel."

The camera crew of Chris and two other media students shot the band over and over again to get as many camera angles as possible.

He said: "At the beginning the girls were a bit nervous but then it flowed really well and the shots looked great."

P5 will be performing live at Preston College's Fulwood Campus advice event for school leavers on Saturday from 12.30pm.
