A PRESTON student has been found dead in a hotel room. Carly Potts was found on Sunday, July 19, in a hotel on Albert Road in Blackpool.

The 26-year-old was a student in the city, living on New Hall Lane.

A post mortem examination, carried out by pathologist Dr Sameer Shaktawat, found Miss Potts died from hanging.

An inquest into the death was opened at Blackpool Coroners Court, by senior coroner Alan Wilson, on Friday.

Coroners officer Karen Poole said: “Paramedics were called to a hotel in Blackpool after a woman was found slumped in a room and sadly it was confirmed she had passed away.”

The inquest was formally adjourned with a date set for a further hearing on December 10.
