HUNDREDS of BMX riders and enthusiasts converged on Preston for some hair-raising action.
The city’s Preston Pirates club hosted rounds four and five of the British BMX series Championships at the London Road track.
Despite heavy downpours on the first day hundreds of riders and thousands of spectators were undeterred and the event produced “some fantastic racing,”
Over the two days an estimated 600 cyclists took part in events - with several thousand watching on the sidelines, and paid to tribute to the hard work, planning and attention to detail by all the volunteers who made the event a great success.
A club spokesman said the event had attracted many sponsors, without whom it would not have been possible.
