A Preston supermarket has donated their surplus food supplies to a local homeless charity.

The food, that is still healthy, nutritious and within it use-by dates will be donated to Emmaus on Ribbleton Lane, Preston, that provides a home to people who have been homeless or socially excluded.

Charity co-ordinator from Sainsbury, Peter Walker said: “We hate wasting food and really believe that old saying ‘Waste not; want not’.
