One of the city’s top tourist attractions is celebrating national recognition.

The Harris Museum on the Flag Market, Preston, has bagged a 2015 Certificate of Excellence from review website Trip Advisor. Head of Arts and Heritage at Preston City Council, Alex Walker, said: “We’re delighted to receive our 2015 Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor.

This reflects the hard work of all our staff in providing a great welcome to visitors from both the local area and further afield.

“We believe we provide something for everyone, from local history to international contemporary art, from families with young children to people with specialist interests in art or history and the award reflects that fantastic offer.”

Cabinet member for culture and leisure services, Councillor Veronica Afrin, said: “This is a wonderful achievement for the Harris Museum and Art Gallery. It’s amazing news that TripAdvisor have given the award to the Harris Museum following the fantastic reviews made by visitors.”
