The Lancaster and Fleetwood MP Eric Ollerenshaw has welcomed representatives from Lancaster Youth Challenge to Parliament.
The group met with Mr Ollerenshaw just hours before they were presented with a Gold Award from Sport England.
Lancaster Youth Challenge were established last year as a partnership between the Dukes, Fylde YMCA, Marsh Community Centre and CTC the national cycle charity, to provide local disadvantaged young people with the opportunity of participating in high quality creative, sports and educational initiatives.
Last year the programme culminated in 10 young people successfully completing a 200 mile cycle challenge from Lancaster to Edinburgh.
Mr Ollerenshaw said: “A fantastic advert for Lancaster and for what can be achieved by such an enthusiastic group of individuals working together across their different organisations.”
