West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has given her backing to the West Lancashire Armed Forces Community Covenant.
The scheme, being led by West Lancashire Borough Council, recognises the service of the armed forces and their contribution to local communities.
Ms Cooper said: “People serving and that have served in our armed forces make a huge contribution to our society and more locally our communities.
“Forces personnel and their families make huge sacrifices on our behalf.
“It is vital that we recognise that contribution formally.
“I am proud to be able to give my support to establishing a West Lancashire Armed Forces Community Covenant.
“This is our show of support for what our armed forces do in our service.
“It is a small acknowledgement and thank you from the West Lancashire community.”
