A popular café has been relaunched, with a new menu, new manager and a new name.
The café at Avenham & Miller Parks Pavilion, which was previously known as the Riverside Cafe, has been officially re-named ‘The Pavilion Café’ and has a new manager, Louise Westwood.
The much loved venue in the heart of city’s best park is also introducing a new menu of freshly prepared food and drink.
It comes as the council has announced that Tribourne Catering Services Ltd have secured a 10 year catering contract for the café.
Mayor of Preston, Councillor Veronica Afrin, officially opened the Pavilion Café, on Wednesday.
She said: “The Pavilion Café is wonderfully situated in the heart of Avenham & Miller parks and is a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
“A very popular meeting point with good food and friendly staff and I am delighted to re-open the Pavilion Café today.
“The future is very bright and exciting as Avenham & Miller parks have recently been granted a licence to hold weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.
“I couldn’t think of a more beautiful setting.”
Customers new and old are invited to enjoy free tastings from the café’s new drinks menu and sample homemade bakes and nibbles. There is also free wi-fi for visitors.
Avenham Park Pavilion was designed by architect Ian McChesney and was opened by the The Duke of Gloucester in June 2009.
