Police are inviting schools to join a live web-chat on Friday aimed at keeping children safe on the internet.
The multi-agency event, to be hosted on www.trusted2know.co.uk/web-chat between 11.35am and 1pm, will offer youngsters the chance to ask questions direct to officers and agency partners about any e-safety concerns they may have.
The web-chat will be a follow-on from today’s Internet Safety Day which is designed to remind users of the importance of staying safe online.
Det Supt Ian Critchley, head of public protection in Lancashire, said: “The internet is a big part of daily life, and we would encourage people to use it and enjoy it, but do so safely.
“This includes using different passwords for different sites and using secure sites that you know you can trust.
“It is also important to remember that people you meet online may not be who they claim to be.”
