OFFICERS from Fulwood Neighbourhood Policing Team have visited a housing estate in North Fulwood to check the vulnerability of premises in the area.
On the day of the operation, officers tried dwellings, sheds, cars and garages. The results were two houses, with no occupants present; 24 garages, 18 side gates; five bikes and 11 sheds, were all left insecure.
Operation Back to Basics was aimed at keeping theft in the area at a low. Officers check people’s property to assess if they are at risk of theft.
Those who left their property unlocked were spoken to by officers and given crime prevention advice to help them reduce their risk of having their items stolen in the future. For advice visit advice lancashire.police.uk.
