Police were called to a siege at flats in Lancaster which ended without serious incident.
They received a call from a Lancaster County Court bailiff at 10.10am on Thursday saying two people were refusing to come out of Harrier Court on Fenton Street.
There were reports that one of them may have been armed with a rifle.
The police left the scene by 1pm.
A police spokesman said: “We were made aware of a dispute and attended to check for a breach of the peace. There was an air rifle in the house but we were satisfied that no-one had been threatened and there was no suggestion of anyone being in danger.”
