A pilot and passenger walked away unscathed from an emergency plane landing in Pilling yesterday.
The two-seater Cessna 152 got into difficulties at 12.45pm as it flew in the Cockerham area, and the pilot radioed for help to air traffic control at Blackpool Airport.
Emergency services were put on standby and scrambled to a field near Pilling Sands after touch down.
A police spokesman said: “Blackpool Airport informed the police and other emergency services that there was an aircraft in trouble, and officers were put on standby.
“However, after a short time, all emergency services were stood down as the plane landed intact, and the two people on board walked away uninjured.”
A recovery operation for the aircraft, between the pilot and the landowner got underway yesterday afternoon.
