Rather than be tied up and left outside to wait for their owners to come back, dogs are being welcomed through the doors at a Preston cafe.
With April declared National Pet Month, Ultimate Cafe, based in Ultimate Outdoors at Deepdale Retail Park, is encouraging dogs to “take their owners out for a cuppa” and making sure visitors know that pooches are most definitely welcome.

Director Nichola Lee said customers are welcome to bring in the faithful friends for a brew - and those that do, will get one on the house.
Nichola said: “We are delighted to be celebrating National Pet Month with our customers, as we want everyone to know that we are a pet-friendly zone, whereby owners are welcome to take a break and dine with their dogs. With that in mind, guests who bring their dogs along can enjoy a barista-style hot beverage on us throughout the course of the month.”
The Ultimate Cafe opened its doors in July inside the outdoor clothing and equipment shop, and has a reputation for its innovative dishes, indulgent milkshakes and signature pancakes and waffles.
Fellow director, Andrea Edwards, added: “Many coffee shops don’t allow dogs inside, however as we are known for offering something a little different – dogs are more than welcome at our pet-friendly eatery and we even provide them with fresh drinking water during their visit.
“So that all of our customers can have an enjoyable experience, we ask dog owners to make sure that their pets are kept on a short lead.”
