Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Walton le Dale.

The incident happened between 5pm and 5.30pm on Wednesday, January 14 when a 51-year-old man was walking along the pavement on Victoria Road by the Yew Tree pub was hit by the car resulting in a broken toe and bruising and grazes to his leg.

The driver and passenger of the car, two Asian women, stopped to help the man and drove him home but no contact details were exchanged.

PC Emma Collins of Preston Police said: “Unfortunately this man’s injuries were more serious than first thought and I would urge the driver of the car to come forward and contact us.

“Similarly, I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened or may have any information to get in touch with us.”
