I always get pre show butterflies, these are accompanied by insomnia and a lack of appetite.
I work through most of my shows on adrenaline and red bull.
These shows were much more demanding both mentally and physically than any I have staged before.
I had the shows themselves planned out down to the very last detail and the team we have in place are amazing and really did cover all areas and ensure my plans were followed.
The shows were a huge success and praised by all who attended and just as we was getting ready to pack up and relax the unfortunate happened.
My champion Lionheart was due to take a move called the Styles Clash from world renowned wrestler AJ Styles.
This was going to be the very last move of the weekend and just before the fans went home happy.
What did happen was Lionheart tilted his head in the wrong direction and took the full force of the manoeuvre on his neck.
My team raced into action as we sensed it was a serious injury so we cleared the room of fans and the medical team had called an ambulance.
Lionheart had broken two bones in his neck but had not suffered any nerve damage. I spent the next twelve hours at the hospital with him and at that point had not slept or eaten for over seventy two hours!
After less than forty eight hours in hospital, Lionheart walked out on his own two feet and went home. The training and muscle strengthening exercises wrestlers go through prevented any serious damage and he is already planning his return. All in all it was the most emotional weekend of my life for both highs and lows but that is the world of wrestling.
