Lancashire County Council’s park rangers have a bumper programme of events lined up for Easter.

At Beacon Fell, near Preston there are Birds of Prey, and at Spring Wood, near Whalley, there is the chance to help create a bonfire to help the rangers protect the woodland by getting rid of infected Rhododendron.

County Councillor Marcus Johnstone, cabinet member for environment, planning, and cultural services, said: “Spring is a great time to visit Lancashire’s glorious countryside and our events programme means there’s no excuse to stay at home.

“Numbers are limited for some events so to avoid disappointment please check our website and book ahead if you need to.”

Most events are free although there may be a small charge at some. Visit www.lancashire.gov.uk/countryside
